Space for you and your baby
New parents and their babies meet weekly giving them the opportunity to make real connections during their baby's first year.
At Space, you and your baby will connect with other new parents and their babies as you explore parenting and children's development in a safe, facilitated environment.
Sessions are around 2 hours long and include: opportunities for parents to meet and get to know one another; discussions and information sharing on relevant parenting topics; opportunities to explore music, rhymes and books for infants; and a variety of play experiences.
Space at the Family Lifecare Centre is free of charge.
We will be starting another programme in July 2019 for babies born between February-July 2019.
Contact us if you'd like to register for this programme.
Some comments from our 2017 Space participants:
"I'd recommend Space to others for the friendship, support, learning and opportunity to really stop and enjoy my son."
"So many aspects of my understanding of parenting has developed with different points of view discussed to help make decisions."
"It is great for my baby to be in a different 'space' learning how to play alongside babies, sing songs, create things and be apart of the buzz."
"Truthfully I think in the early days it was so hard going - from someone who worked full time and made a lot of choices and who felt in control to not feeling in control. It was nice coming to a place where there were others like that. To have discussion and hear different opinions. When you are a new mum with a whole empty week stretching ahead it's scary. But to have a place where you can come and build the tools to make those week days better has been awesome. Thank you."
